New Mini-14

1 Attachment(s)
Just got back from Wally World with a new Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle in .223...this is the latest, improved version, stiffer barrel, better accuracy.

Bought the last one they had at the old price. Today, of all days, prices went up 10%...no more in their warehouse.

Also ordered five 20 round mags from Ruger @$29.95 ea.

These rifles are flying off the shelves...

Happy Veteran's Day, y'all. Semper fi...

In my area, new price for the Ranch Rifle is $660 at Walmart, and $679 at Sportsmans Warehouse.

About 5 months ago I picked up a Mini-30 like this one for $649

Also picked up the Mini 14 Target for my father (I get to use it sometimes ) for $749 like this one

Both are fun to shoot. The target mini 14 is extremely accurate. My 30 spreads out a little after it heats up but still fun to shoot, it fires all of the mil surp 7.62x39 with no problems.

Congrats on your purchase. I think you'll like it. I got curious and found the original sales receipt for mine. I paid $202.50 out the door on October 27, 1976. I was a cash-strapped college student at the time and couldn't afford an AR-15. Its been a good rifle for me through the years. Yes, it has it's shortcomings, but all in all, a good rifle and I still have it. I used that rifle in 1985 to help qualify for an M1 Garand in the old DCM program. The M1 has served me well also.
Take care,

Congrats SC on the new gun! Nice!
I like anything in 223 very economical round.

Luft your dads is very nice too has a Anschutz look to it.
Is that some kind of muzzle brake/ compensator on there?

It's an adjustable harmonic dampener that allows you to tune the barrel. It's a neat little setup that improves the accuracy quite a bit.

Love to see your range report on that SilverCity.

Interested in just how much more accurate the re-engineering has made them.
